Hello. I got troubles running DRI on a radeon 8500 and kernel 2.6.7, on=20 mandrake cooker. It seems to be a kernel-related problems, as I find the=20 following error messages in my logs: [drm] Initialized radeon 1.10.0 20020828 on minor 0: ATI Technologies=20 Inc Radeon R200 QL [Radeon 8500 LE] [drm:radeon_cp_init] *ERROR* radeon_cp_init called without lock held [drm:radeon_unlock] *ERROR* Process 3092 using kernel context 0 In my XFree logs, i have the following error message: (WW) RADEON(0): [agp] AGP not available ... (II) RADEON(0): Direct rendering disabled I forcerd agpgart and via-agp modules loading before loading radeon, as=20 stated on dri Wiki, without success. From=20 http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/archive/18/2003/11/3/74351, I=20 understand current driver version (1.10) is quite high and could be=20 responsable, especially as Mandrake reverted to Xfree 4.3 due to the=20 license change. From kernel package changelog, I see the following changes: ven jan 30 2004: drm updates mer jan 21 2004: remove drm cvs updates ven jan 16 2004: drm 20040108 I'd like to revert to drm20040108 kernel driver to test, but I can't=20 find exactly where to download it from DRI CVS. According to the wiki,=20 it's in=20 http://dri.freedesktop.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb/dri/xc/xc/programs/Xserver/hw/x= free86/os-support/linux/drm,=20 but the files there doesn't match my /usr/src/linux/drivers/char/drm=20 directory content. So, what should I do ? --=20 Every task takes twice as long as you think it will take -- Fundamental Law of Thermodynamics n=B05 |
