Hello, I have been trying to use Zephaniah E. Hull's Debian DRI packages (versioned 2001.04.01-1) with my 8MB AGP G200 at 640x480. I've been using the kernel module from DRI CVS. Very soon (between 3 seconds and a minute) after starting any XScreensaver GL hack, or QuakeForge-gl, that process segfaults in __driCreateScreen. All of the GL XScreensaver hacks work flawlessly with plain mesa. The backtraces seem worthless, suggesting that function is called from strcpy() in some cases. I have had the same results when my G200 was sharing an IRQ with my ethernet card and when I gave it its own IRQ. Several months I tried using DRI under stock XFree86 4.0.1 and had the same lack of success. The only difference back then was GL use was more likely to lockup my machine after a few seconds than cause a segfault. With April 1st's DRI, I cannot hose my machine with it, but can't get it to work consistantly either. The output of glxinfo is below. display: :0.0 screen:0 direct rendering: Yes server glx vendor string: SGI server glx version string: 1.2 server glx extensions: GLX_EXT_visual_info, GLX_EXT_visual_rating, GLX_EXT_import_context client glx vendor string: SGI client glx version string: 1.2 client glx extensions: GLX_EXT_visual_info, GLX_EXT_visual_rating, GLX_EXT_import_context GLX extensions: GLX_EXT_visual_info, GLX_EXT_visual_rating, GLX_EXT_import_context OpenGL vendor string: VA Linux Systems Inc.
