CVS trunk:

6746 frames in  5.000 seconds = 1349.200 FPS
6810 frames in  5.000 seconds = 1362.000 FPS
6810 frames in  5.000 seconds = 1362.000 FPS
6810 frames in  5.000 seconds = 1362.000 FPS
6810 frames in  5.000 seconds = 1362.000 FPS

With the mesa-3-5-branch code I get at least 100-120 fps more.  And, I
got basically identical scores with my 600MHz Duron as I'm getting here
with the 1GHz Athlon (ie. it's already hit the upper limit).
