Hello group, I am having some issues with 2D performance under Red Hat 8 and Red Hat 9 with a Radeon Mobility M7 LW [Radeon Mobility 7500]. DRI is running per glxinfo and 3D performance is fine per glxgears for this card. The Radeon is in a 1.7Ghz P4 laptop with 512 MB DDR ram. I am using Gnome 2.2 and metacity for my wm. Metacity shows the contents of the windows while dragging them around and this causes X to suck up CPU usage. Another big culprit is gnome-terminal, if I do ls -l /dev, X just eats up to 60% CPU. I don't know if this is a DRI problem or maybe something with GTK-2.x and pango. Anyway, are there any options for XF86Config to help with 2D? I added these optoins to my XF86Config "Device" section: Option "AGPMode" "2" Option "AGPFastWrite" "on" Option "EnablePageFlip" "on" And I was able to get about 200 fps more from glxgears. Are there any options that can help speed up this horrible 2D performance? Are there any other 3D performance enhancing options as well?
