Support Requests item #431780, was updated on 2001-06-08 13:50 You can respond by visiting: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=200387&aid=431780&group_id=387 Category: None Group: None Status: Open Priority: 5 Submitted By: Kevin A Brown (demalion) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: No DRI for Radeon, w/cfg and X log Initial Comment: I have Redhat 7.1 installed (kernel 2.4.2-2), and couldn't get DRI to work with my Radeon. I then installed XFree86 4.1 using the following RPMs from rpmfind (all i386 versions): Mesa-3.4.2-0.410.1 XFree86-4.1.0-0.0.1 XFree86-libs-4.1.0-0.0.1 XFree86-tools-4.1.0-0.0.1 XFree86-V4L-4.1.0-0.0.1 XFree86-xf86cfg-4.1.0-0.0.1 XFree86-xfs-4.1.0-0.0.1 I expected this to magically fix things, but it didn't. Now, I'm not very knowledgeable...is there anything, after looking at my XF86Config-4, XF86Config (is this even used? Redhat installed it with a nodri option which I've removed, but the log seems to be ignoring it coming from somewhere anyways), and included XFree86.0.log files that I should run, or change in the files? Note there is a radeon_drv.o in /lib/modules/.../char/drm/ (from memory), but I seem to have some sort of error for that anyways. A side note...I looked in /usr/X11R6/lib (memory again, not running linux now) and saw broken links to libXIE.so and to libPEX5.so, though the ".a" files were there...what is going on? I searched rpmfind and found those files in XFree86-libs-4.0.3-11mdk (and not in 4.1.0? eh?) and did some rpm shuffling and got those files from there in the directory, but my log still has an error (I'm missing something obvious) for loading those modules. I'm quite lost now, and keep in mind I'm a novice. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=200387&aid=431780&group_id=387 |
