I followed all the instructions on the building page(http://dri.freedesktop.org/wiki/Building), but dmesg | grep dri is still empty. glxinfo says: name of display: :0.0 Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0". Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0". Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0". Error: couldn't find RGB GLX visual Am I missing something obvious? If I reinstall Ubuntu Edgy or just go straight to Feisty, will DRI be activated automatically? -- Iain |

You may need to add a few lines to /etc/modules, probably "agp", "drm", and "radeon". If after a reboot 'dmesg | egrep "agp|drm" ' then still gives no output, post the output of 'lsmod'. > If I reinstall Ubuntu Edgy or just go straight to Feisty, will > DRI be activated automatically? You mean you have installed a new video card after having installed Edgy? Then it's indeed likely that a reinstall of Edgy will find the card and automatically install the required drivers. But what's the fun in that? :) Benno |

So what is the remaining problem?
