After running some OpenGL applications in 32bpp mode on
a G400 the antialiased fonts get garbled so that it
looks as if every second pixel is missing or something
similar. I've seen this happen after running RTCW but
after that the fonts got fixed automatically. After
running a 3D accelerated DirectX program in Wine the
fonts are left broken and even restarting the X server
won't fix the problem.

I see this on XFree86 4.2.0 built with GCC3.0.3 against
glibc 2.2.5 on Linux 2.4.17.

I'll attach a screenshot of this.

The fonts get messed up differently with different
applications. After running Relnev's Quake 2 everything gets
rendered against a black background (no alpha) making black
text appear as black boxes. I'll attach a screenshot of this
    too.

It seems that the only way to fix the fonts is to run an
OpenGL application that does not have these problems (like
glxgears or Quake 3) after running a program that breaks the
    fonts.
