Hi!

I have a black screen (and have to reboot) after starting X server with DRI support (without DRI all works fine). All software compiles OK, but dies on start. RedHat 6.0 (with 2.4.0-test8 kernel) and latest DRI (17-09-2000 snapshot). Similar thing happend even with previous versions (earier snapshots and kernels). Millenium G400 is used. "Assign IRQ to video board" is enabled in BIOS.

Could anyone tell what's wrong?

Dmitry

After updating MGA BIOS to 1.6A version Rev 0.25 (was 1.5 rev 0.22) server starts correctly (and really loads DRI), but dies after attempting to run OpenGL-based program.

  • I have a similar problem. I have a G200 and am running Mandrake 7.1 with XFree86 4.0.1. Without DRI everything works fine and dandy. If I enable DRI, everything locks up when the X-server starts (including keyboard). I can't even telnet in - hence a manual reboot is the only way out. This happens on both a 2.2.17 kernel (which has agpgart support) and the latest 2.4.0 kernel.

After updating to snapshot 2000-10-07 problem disappeared.

I suggest trying a more recent build now.

Re-open another bug report if you've still got problems.
