If you use special characters (צה) on your writing,
and you leave the whiteboard and come back, letters
have disappeared! Others see the special letters when
you write them, but if they leave and come back,
letters are gone!

I feel like the bug could be when the picture is
loaded. I don't know. This is easily reproduced, go to
board, write צה, leave, and go back. Special letters
are gone! My server and client is using jre 1.1 and
also tried with client with jre 1.3. OS W2K 512RAM IE6

As usual - works fine for me. Please type detailed sequence
of activities, I've checked it in many ways and special
letters are always where they should be.

I browse to my board. I write "aa". I quit the board.
I browse back to the board. And only "a a" is left
from "aa". You can test this "feature" at
    http://www.baarimestari.com:2345/wb/

Sorry if I am bugging you, but it really does this on my
    system (mentioned above).

Yes, I saw it on your test page. Very strange, this should
not happen - special characters are treatened exactly as
normal ones. Are there any error messages on server console
    or any other unusual activities?

One more thing - did you remove all files from previous
versions of Drawboard? Are you running the current version
of server from JAR file and there are no old *.class files?
It looks like server uses old character matrix, without the
    new special characters...

I just tested, nothing special in the server console.

I did not, but just before i tested, i removed *.class from
my server directory. And accessed the drawboard from
different machine (to be sure nothing (*.class) is cached)
but it does the exact same thing. When I write "aa"
server says 4 times "Received object drawboard.Letter
(size: 94 bytes)" but when i quit and come back, special
letters cannot be seen, and there is nothing special at the
server console... I am using 0.71 version, and i do not
have *.class (old files) in my directory (not anymore).

I'm unable to reproduce this error. I'm almost sure that
server uses the old character matrix, but I also belive
you. So I'm stuck. Please give me the exact version of your
JVM or JRE (java -version) and exact server run command
    line.

Have you tried runnig Drawboard on other host? Maybe
locally or sth? Did the bug persist?

Please contact me by e-mail (tomash@fidonet.org.pl or
tomash@4net.pl), I'll send you special version of server
    with event tracing.

There was no bug, finally. Server *.class files were cached
by JVM and 0.71 clients worked with 0.70 server (which
hasn't extra characters included and cannot remember them).
    Everything is OK :)
