Hi, I am looking into some of the design issues for providing DPCL support for MPICH on Linux as part of an academic project. The DPCL documentation says that the current implementation for Linux doesn't support MPI. From reading the user guide, the way non-POE parallel applications are supported on AIX is that one dpcl Daemon is created on each node for each process belonging to an Application object representative of the parallel application. So, is it possible to apply the same concept for instrumenting a message passing parallel application using MPICH on Linux. There were a couple of issues I was wondering about: 1) Would the design be affected by the specific MPI implementation on Linux. i.e. does the design need to be based on what specific MPI implementation (for eg, whether MPICH is used or some other, say, MPI implementation for AIX) is used for MPI ? 2) What all changes apply to the current design that supports MPI on AIX for making it compatible with MPICH on Linux ? Is there any DPCL design document available which could provide me with details of the DPCL system implementation? Thanks, Kunal |
