DOSBox 0.74 has been released

Dosbox is a full x86 emulator. It is written in C/C++ and supports sound and dos. The main purpose of Dosbox is running old dos games on platforms which don't have dos (i.e. Win2k/XP/Vista/FreeBSD/Linux/Mac OS X)

Most noticeable changes:
- Improved Windows 7 support
- Added 16C550A FIFO support to the serial port emulation.
- Several graphical improvements and fixes.
- Improved the internal timing, which makes everything more fluent.
- Lots of compatibility fixes.
- Slightly faster!

DOSBox 0.72 has been released

  • Fix crashes with joystick support on Vista and Mac OS X.

  • Fix compilation on various platforms.
  • Add a new, easier to port, recompiling cpu core!

There were a lot of changes since the last version and here is a short list of the larger changes:

  • Faster dynamic core for certain games.
  • Improve the cycle guessing code and make it default!
  • Foreign keyboard layout support

DOSBox 0.63 has been released

Dosbox is a full x86 emulator. It is written in C/C++ and supports sound and
dos. Main purpose of Dosbox is running old dos games on platforms which
don't have dos (i.e. win2k/XP/FreeBSD/Linux)

This release is mainly a bug fix release and adds a few small features:

  • File redirection added.
  • Shell improvements.
  • Fixed various crashes.
  • Fixed programs complaining about too low FILES setting.
  • Fixed some CPU/FPU instructions.
  • Small dos changes and fixes
  • Lot's of additions to the internal debugger.
  • Due to popular request, drive unmounting.
  • CD-Rom and drive label improvements.
  • Wave and raw OPL writing improved.

DOSBox 0.61 is released

Dosbox is a full x86 emulator written in C/C++ with sound and dos. It's main use is to run old dosgames on platforms which don't have dos (win2K/XP/FreeBSD/linux).
This release greatly improves protected mode support, because of basic paging support.
Support for older games has been improved by new renderers for tandy and hercules graphics.

Dosbox 0.50 has been released

Dosbox is a full x86 emulator written in C/C++ with sound and dos.
It's main use is to run old dosgames on platforms which don't have dos(win2k/linux).
The most important new features:
-you can resize your window.
-a lot of the real mode 386 instructions were added.
-fixed a lot of errors(keyboard/divisions/graphics)
-it has a plugin system now.
-drawing occurs only on changes in memory instead of drawing an entire frame.
