Working on a Dell Studio 17. the [ ] \ and ' keys start out mapped incorrectly. Using keymapper, ] and \ can be mapped to their correct keys. But two of the keys appear to be tied together. When setting the keymapping, the BIND value for the ones that don't stick says "Key unknown key" even though on the keyboard, they are the actual keys. Is there a way to (1) find out the ALT-code for the problem keys, and (2) give Keymapper an ALT-code instead of typing the corresponding key. The problem keys are ' and [. If I map them, they both seem to generate double keystrokes (and I did use the DEL first). Thanks.

HP keyboards seem to install wrong drivers:

According to one person I told about this solution
I changed the mcir device 109 the japanese keyboard to human input
    device and that fixed it.
