I'm the author of UliPad, and I use ReST to write documents of UliPad,
and I see that FTE editor began to support ReST highlight, and I also
want to support it. And I'v finished some tech research, and already
finished some highlight funcationality, and I also want to implement
some more support, so I want to ask if anybody will be interesting in this.
If you do, what kind of support do you want, and you can download ulipad
to have a test. You can find the url from my signature.
How to make a ReST file syntax highlight
1. the filename suffix should be .rst
2. if the suffix isnot .rst, so you can choose [Document]->[Syntax
Highlight], then choose rst.
3. If you have many files need to be highlighted, and the suffix of
the filenames is not .txt, so you can write a "_project" file in the
directory, and the content could be:
.txt = rst
so all the files with .txt suffix in the directory and its
subdirectories will be auto apply rst highlight. This will be very
Auto apply ReST hightlight to txt file
In the ReST doc directory, create a file _project, and fill in below text:
.txt = rst
.txt = rst.acp
So if you open .txt file in the directory which has the _project file
and _profile has the content like above, rst highlight will auto be
applied to .txt file. You can also change .txt to other suffix. And
you can also see a menu in the main menu, that is ReST.
Open Html View in Left side or bottom side
If the document is rst highlight, you will see a ReST menu in the main
manu. And you can see there are two menu items can be used to view the
ReST in Html. And UliPad will auto convert the ReST to Html. And if
you keep the view opened, as you modify the ReST content, the view
will automaticlly updated.
Other features of UliPad can be used for ReST support
Auto-complete. You can write some acp file, and put them on
UliPad/conf directory. So as you typing some text, if the text is
matched with some rule, UliPad will auto replace text or append text
or popup a list let you choose according the rules.
If someone like it, you can talk with me or give me some feedback.
If the features you need is not so diffcult, I could think about to add them.
I like python!
