1. The instructions at http://www.rexx.com/~dkuhlman/odtwriter.html refer to a --stylesheet-path option, which does not seem to exist. (But stylesheet works.) 2. Definition lists put an odd marker before the defintion (I think it is a circle, but Writer displays it poorly). Can this be eliminated? (Doesn't odt define a definition list?) 3. Footnote marks have add a leading space. O/w, pretty damn nifty! Alan Isaac |

I forgot that I had documentation at my own Web site. It was out-of-date. I've updated it and have made sure that I'll keep it up-to-date. > > 2. But still, I > think it is a bit shocking to see so much color (e.g., for > literal blocks and literal inline text) in a simple document. Alan - OK, a few excuses: (1) I'm partially color-blink, reds and greens especially, but also other colors seem less than distinguishable. (2) I like to have some dramatically different colors when I'm testing, so that I can see what might be wrong more easily. (3) In a perverse way, it forces users to learn how to modify styles, because they can't stand the default style. And, (4) I probably could not design a decent looking style if I tried. None of the above are good reasons, of course. So, do you have a style that is reasonably conservative and that you think that others might be likely to want to use. If you do, please pass it along to me, and I'll consider adding it to the SVN repository. It would really be nice if we had a conservative, plain style for the default *and* several additional more colorful or special purpose styles that the user could chose from. And, it would *really* be cool if we had a style tailored for ePubs. Speaking of which, do you know how to use OpenOffice/oowriter to produce an ePub? If there is a way, I'd like to know about it. - Dave -- Dave Kuhlman http://www.rexx.com/~dkuhlman |

As ePub is "packed HTML+CSS", I'd rather go rst->HTML->ePub using CSS styles. There is a TODO item for an Docutils ePub writer: http://docutils.sourceforge.net/docs/dev/todo.html#epub-html-writer (co-) coders welcome. Günter |
