Currently the docbook XSL HTML and XHTML stylesheets
convert <code> elements in docbook to tt elements in
(X)HTML. This seems odd, given (X) HTML also has <code>.

I've made a rough patch to make the stylesheet output
<code> instead. It would need to be applied to
html/inline.xsl and xhtml/inline.xsl

I agree with you. Others have pointed it out as well. And
a change was recently made to convert all <b> and <i>
instances to the <em> and <strong>, so this sorrta
goes hand in hand with that.

If I can get OK from the team, I'll check in a change.
Probably won't use the patch, though. Just 'find' and
    'sed'...

Well, I learned a bit more about Docbook, so I now realize
    <classname>, <methodname> and <interfacename> (plus any
other code related things I haven't found yet) should be
    included in this change.

The Nov 8 2004 snapshot adresses this issue nicely thanks.
