J. Ramsey (jjramsey) Assigned to: Norman Walsh (nwalsh) Summary: Tagging for subtler breaks or "pauses" within a chapter Initial Comment: In the chapters of some books, there will be a block of paragraphs on a subject, then extra space or a little centered separator symbol (maybe a row of dots), and then another block of paragraphs, etc. It would be nice if this sort of subdivision were semantically coded. The obvious way to do it would be with an empty tag, such as <pause/>, <separation/>, or <chapterpause/>. Alternatively, it could be coded with a pair of tags surrounding each subdivision. For example, <chapter> <title>About Foo</title> <foosubdiv> Stuff, stuff, and more stuff. Blah, blah, blah . . . </foosubdiv> <foosubdiv> Yet more stuff . . . . </foosubdiv> . . . </chapter> The former way (empty tag) is probably easier to implement. The latter is probably more reflective of the semantics. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=373750&aid=711815&group_id=21935 |
