The ability to attach multiple signatures in one pass is desirable. For example, a user with his/her own domain who relays mail through an ESP might want the message to be signed once by each domain.

A single "identity" might want to create multiple signatures in order to invoke different reputations associated with that identity. Also, as Murray noted, an MTA or the like doing signing might want to give the message a signature for each of more than one actor involved in the message, such as one for the author's organizaion and one for the MTA operator's. This should increase the ability of the receive side to find useful reputation information.

This will appear as an FFR in v2.8.0, which is now in development but does not yet have a release schedule.

If you're interested in a pre-release version with which to experiment, let me know.

  • v2.8.0 now released, with the FFR included as a compile-time option.
