At long last, I'm going to be posting a v1.0.0 of dk-milter. The number
is justified as it's the first release since the publication of RFC4870,
even though this will contain mainly minor bug fixes and a few features
copied over from the dkim-milter package. It's also obviously been fairly
stable over the ten months since the last release.
Also in this version is the framework for unit testing libdk, another
thing copied over from dkim-milter. I've included only a few basic unit
tests, but feel free to provide more so there's better code coverage.
I will probably activate _FFR_MULTIPLE_KEYS before the actual release.
The first beta version of 1.0.0 is now available via SourceForge. I don't
imagine this will be a very long beta cycle, perhaps a week at the most.
If you test it and find problems, please don't use the trackers and
instead use this list. If there's enough beta-related traffic, I'll
create a dk-milter-beta list as I did for dkim-milter to separate beta
traffic from discussion of the released versions to avoid concerning
people not participating in the beta.
DKIM is clearly getting more attention from the industry these days so
it's been getting the lion's share of my efforts in this area. Minor
patches and bug fixes are easy to incorporate in future maintenance
revisions, but large-scale feature requests or bug fixes that require a
lot of work are unlikely to get serviced in the near future. If on the
other hand you're interested in continuing to use DomainKeys and would
find such things really useful, you're welcome to submit patches for use
in later versions.
