I am having a problem connecting to an ALL utf8 database. I have two copies of the database and one is on a server entirely configured as UTF8 and the other is entirely Latin1 (with utf8 data in it regardless).
With Latin1, everything works through Direct SQL. Under the utf8 server/database, I can connect perfectly, but I'm getting a 1267, "Illegal mix of collations (latin1_swedish_ci,IMPLICIT) and (utf8_general_ci,COERCIBLE) for operation '="
How do I set the character set for the Direct SQL client side connection?
You can run the query "SET CHARACTER SET xxx" after connecting to mysql ... The next version would handle this automatically, but as of current version you will have to explicitelly run this query.
Thanks for the reply.
