This release adds support for a the range of XMEGA devices supported in FLIP 3.4.7, and adds a new command to set the security bit on AVR32. It also adds an HTML help file for Windows users and improves the built-in help.

dfu-programmer 0.5.5 released

This release improves support for Windows users by providing build instructions and a pre-compiled binary and USB driver set. It also fixes operation of the reset command, adds support for the atmega16u2 and improves the operation of autoconf so that building works on more platforms.

dfu-programmer 0.5.2 Released

Release 0.5.2 follows release 0.5.1. STDIN can now be the source of input for data being flashed. A number of the AVR32 fuses can now be set by command-line options. A number of bug fixes have been applied - most notably AVR support has been fixed.

dfu-programmer: 0.5.1 Released

A linux based command-line programmer for Atmel (8051 & AVR) chips with a USB bootloader supporting ISP. This is a mostly Device Firmware Update (DFU) 1.0 compliant user-space application.

Release 0.5.1 follows release 0.5.0. A command line option was added to support the AVR32 trampoline (so dfu-programmer ignores any code that might exist in the bootloader code space).

dfu-programmer 0.5.0 Released

Release 0.5.0 follows release 0.4.6. All known Atmel USB AVR/8051/AVR32 devices are now supported, and several changes to make porting easier have been added.

dfu-programmer 0.4.6 Released

Release 0.4.6 follows release 0.4.4. 4k bootloaders are now supported, eeprom-flash & eeprom-dump are now supported, and the permissions are updated for Fedora 10 users. This is intended to be the last 0.4.x series release with 0.5.0 focusing on supporting windows users better.

dfu-programmer 0.4.4 Released

This release adds the new reset command, and for Fedora/rpm users all the dfu-programmer recognized devices are now able to be written to by the console owner without needing to be root.

dfu-programmer 0.4.0 Released

This release of dfu-programmer upgrades the support for the AVR devices, adds support for OS X, and upgrades the flashing algorithm. For AVR devices, in particular the AT90USBKey device, the there have been several issues resolved that should allow better overall performance. dfu-programmer 0.3.1 Released

There were no code fixes for this release. The only changes were to the spec file so that the project can be included in Fedora Extras, and some documentation updates.

Project Migrated to Subversion

dfu-programmer has been migrated from CVS to Subversion in an effort to make maintenance easier. The CVS repository is now unsupported.

dfu-programmer 0.3.0 Released

dfu-programmer is a Device Firmware Update based USB programmer for Atmel 8051 and AVR chips with a USB boot-loader.

This version of dfu-programmer adds new support for AVR devices. at90usb1287, at90usb1286, at90usb647 and at90usb646 devices are now supported. Additionally, a bug related to verifying the top-most byte of memory is fixed in this release.
