Has anyone else noticed that WebUpdate is not seeing any DevPaks updates that occurred after November 2008?

    • The original Dev-C++ might need to put
      http://devpaks.sourceforge.net/mirrors.cfg
      into the
      %APPDATA%\Dev-Cpp
      directory.
wxDev-C++ and Orwell Dev-C++ should work out of the box (just tested).

the orwell devcpp seems to ignore mirrors.cfg, when placed in %APPDATA%\dev-cpp or %APP%\devcpp .(at least on winXPsp3). Although the older devcpp does look at the mirrors file (tested) the newer one seems to have planetmirror.com and devpaks.org hard coded, and neither work. orwells version (mingw one) also is missing the PACKMaker.exe.

    • Orwell Dev-C++ 5.3.0.5 and 5.5.1 works for me out of the box.

i tested 5.4.2 and 5.5.1 with no joy. I have installed devcpp into c:\dev-cpp and the webupdate still does not see mirrors.cfg
I have tried installing into the default c:\program files\dev-cpp as well and get the same problem with webupdate not seeing the mirrors.cfg
maybe it relates to the version of windows.?

    • Orwell Dev-C++ does not need mirrors.cfg. (If you still want to use mirrors.cfg you'll have to rename it to webmirrors.ini. No, I have no idea, why the Orwell Dev-C++'s author decided to change that.)

thanks very much for the info. renaming mirrors.cfg webmirrors.ini in %APPDATA%\dev-cpp makes it be read again. (well the primary devpak server option works (http://heanet.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/dev-cpp/ ), the devpaks.org (http://devpaks.sourceforge.net) one does not.)
Also there is an option on the primary server to install packmaker.exe which is missing from the main devcpp setup program.

yes, that comes up ok in firefox
odd that I get "could not connect to remote site..." error message in webupdate
I have looked at both webupdate.conf files, and the none-working one has a Name= entry for each item, which is not present in the working one.
