This email is to inform you of release '1.1' of 'distcc' through
freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at
The changes in this release are as follows:
If run by root, distcc now changes to a different userid instead of
refusing to run. It now checks for inadvertent recursion because of
misconfiguration. A few other bugs have been fixed, and the manual
has been updated.
distcc is a program that distributes compilation of C code across
several machines on a network, resulting in speed increases of 1.5 to
10 times. It does not require machines to share a filesystem, have
the same libraries or header files, or superuser privileges.
