Almost beta

Well, the project is nearing its first beta release. 0.7, the final alpha release is finally out there. There are many bugs and things to fix, but thats why its alpha. Several features are also in various stages of completion, but the next release will have much changed, and several new features as well as the current ones working, and probably improved.

any feedback would be appreciated.

Desipio 0.2 CVS Release

We have a current CVS snapshot of Desipio for the upcoming 0.2 release. It offers basic file management and window layout.

Currently the dependencies for this build are Python and wxPython. It hasn't been tested with versions of Python prior to 2.3 but the minimum version for wxPython is 2.5.3.1; the current latest release.

So if you wish to give the unfinished version a try download it now and run desipio.py.

Full Desipio Rewrite

Desipio is now in the process of a full rewrite. The old codebase was plagued with our inexperience with Python and wxPython. With this new design we hope that it'll be easier to develop and end up being a better end product.

Progess is actually been going quickly because of the fresh start. The GUI is mostly done, tabs now work flawlessly (knock on wood) and implementation of file management should be very soon.

We're still here

We've started work on the program now, and changed the scope from just a simple file manager to a core plugin interface with file manager and resource monitor plugins, as well as support for any other type of plugin. We're still pre-alpha, as we only started programming this week.
