We are pleased to announce the availability of dependency analyzer 1.1-rc0. The new version includes new features, improvements and bug fixes. The artifacts caching mechanism was refactored and is now using ehcache. Release notes: Bug * [MDV-51] - FATAL exception when starting dependency analyzer * [MDV-54] - Cannot start dependency analyzer in path with blank spaces * [MDV-55] - viewer ignores dependencies, when marked as optional * [MDV-61] - optional dependency gets displayed, when dependent vertex has a mandatory edge, too. Documentation * [MDV-49] - Required propeties Improvement * [MDV-47] - Don't show excluded dependencies by default * [MDV-48] - Better error messages for startup * [MDV-52] - a refresh option * [MDV-53] - Make possible to select text to be copy pasted New Feature * [MDV-32] - Analyzing Maven project * [MDV-42] - Missing progress bar * [MDV-46] - A packaging information to vertex tooltip Sub-task * [MDV-44] - Add modules support Regards, Dror Bereznitsky The jfrog team |

Hi Torsten, I'll try to create a similar test case and check it. By the way, there is an option to pass system properties to maven when opening a pom in the dependency analyzer - you might find it helpful. I separated MDV-32 into two sub tasks one for modules and one for inheritance. I committed a basic implementation of the modules support to SVN this weekend. Hi Dror! I think I found what my problem is. Looks like this is *not* related to modules, but to POM inheritance. All dependencies in our project have a version tag which is a variable, i.e.: <version>${projectVersion}</version> The variable projectVersion is defined somewhere in some super POM. I tried defining it in the actual POM, which solved the problem. But related to MDV-32, modules are not the same as inheritance, are they? This is exactly what MDV-32 <http://www.jfrog.org/jira/browse/MDV-32> means - right now the analyzer only analyzes dependencies and not modules. It will not help you if you want to start from a POM file that has a list of modules. It is possible to bypass this issue by creating a dummy POM with all your modules as dependencies.
