Hi all, I'm new to these forums even though I have used dban on several drives I was discarding. However, I would like to use a previously nuked hard drive (400 gb) for external storage via usb. I have looked through the faq's and cannot find anything on this topic.
I do not want to reinstall Windows 7 on the drive - not sure if it will work or be of any use for storage. Right now, when I plug in the drive, Windows does not recognize it.
    Thanks for your help

After it has been nuked, you just need to re-format the drive with a file system. The easiest way to do this is to connect the drive to a Windows 7 system and use Disk Management. Here's a one-minute video on how to do it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luuKu0RazSE
