Hello,

I've been using Davmail for a while now. I did a clean install today with Mavericks. After attempting to key in the same info as I have previously, I can't get it to work.

Apple Mail is now asking for more criteria than previously. i.e. Internal Server, External Server, External Sever Path & Port.

I've tried getting it to work via process of elimination but with no luck. Any chance an updated tutorial could be made?

Davmail 4.3.4
Mail 7.0

Thanks,
Shaun

  • Well, I don't have Maverick... I received reports that iCal no longer accepts cleartext communication (this is dumb for local connections), you may need to setup a self signed certificate in DavMail, see http://davmail.sourceforge.net/sslsetup.html

Please also check davmail.log for errors

Same here; can't get it to work. And I don't understand anything about these certificates. Can anyone please write a dummy-manual?

The fix was simple for me, I set up the new account as an IMAP account in
Mavericks.. I was initially trying to setup an "Exchange" account.

By making it IMAP, I used the same exact settings as was used previously in
Mountain Lion. Everything worked without a problem.

  • Indeed, I confirm you don't need SSL to make it work on OSX Mavericks:

    • Add Other Mail Account
    • Provide Full Name, Email address and password and click Create
    • Confirm "Account must be manually configured" by clicking Next
    • Account type is IMAP, mail server is DavMail host (localhost for workstation mode)
    • Enter username (can be email or windows login), click next
    • Confirm "Additional account information required" by clicking Next
    • Leave path prefix empty (except for shared mailbox access), enter DavMail IMAP port, authentication is password, click next
    • SMTP server is DavMail host again, click Create
    • Confirm "Additional account information required" by clicking Next
    • Enter DavMail SMTP port, authentication is password, then click Create
