I tried to build th davfs2 0.2.6 on SuSE 10.0.
Configure ends up with the message:
checking for neon-config... /usr/bin/neon-config
checking linking against neon... no
configure: incompatible neon library version 0.24.7: wanted 0.24
configure: error: could not find neon
Any ideas how to get the configure script run correctly with 0.24.7?
I'm i right thinking this is a bug in the neon.m4 file?

I am not familiar with this macros. But on my Debian sarge system I get
Install prefix: /usr/local
neon library: library in /usr (neon 0.24.7)
XML parser: using whatever neon uses
SSL library: supported by neon
So I think neon 0.24.7 is not the problem.
One possible reason:
I suppose the macro is looking for /usr/lib/libneon.so.24.
On my system this is a symbolic link to /usr/lib/libneon.so.24.0.7.
May be this symbolic link is missing or has a differnt name on your
system. In this case you might try a symbolic link named libneon.so.24
