No

mount.davfs does not report any errors and does not
do anything when tried to mount a DAV share which
was pointing to non-existent directory on the DAV
server.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Use the following or similar DAV share settings:

DAVLockDB ...
DAVMinTimeout 600
DAVDepthInfinity on

Alias /stuff "/home/stuff"
<Location /stuff>
DAV On
</Location>

2. Make sure you do NOT have a directory
called "stuff" under /home.

3. (re)start httpd
4. Try to mount this share remotely using mount.davfs

At this point, mount.davfs would say (if debug was
enabled):

Parsed args...
Your server support only OPTIONS,MKCOL, PUT LOCK.

However, no mounting happens. No errors.

Expected behavior: Some kind of error would be useful.

    Good!

    What dav-server would say if we request this?

    OPTIONS / HTTP/1.1
    Host: xxx.dav.com

    and

    OPTIONS /stuff/ HTTP/1.1
    Host: xxx.dav.com

    I'll give it a try tomorrow. I should also try testing
    the same using different DAV client. I've a Windows XP
    machine. Should check how it behaves. XP has file system
    level DAV support.

    Where do you think this bug belongs? mount.davfs or davfs?
