Ok, so I'm a total clueless newbie with DataVision. I just downloaded and installed DataVision, the latest version of Java and the MySQL connectors (actually I've tried two of them). The Database Connection Window: Driver Class Name: org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver Connection Info: jdbc:mysql://titania/new Database Name: new Username: matt Password: ********** The pop up window: java.sql.SQLException: Invalid authorization specification: Access denied for user: 'ma...@ti...' (Using password: YES) The contents of datavision.sh: #! /bin/sh classpath="$CLASSPATH":lib/DataVision.jar:lib/MinML2.jar:lib/jcalendar.jar:lib/jruby.jar:lib/gnu-regexp-1.1.4.jar:/usr/local/mm.mysql-2.0.14 cd `dirname $0` /usr/java/j2re1.4.1_02/bin/java -classpath $classpath jimm.datavision.DataVision $* This is with: datavision-0.7.7 mysql Ver 11.18 Distrib 3.23.54, for pc-linux (i686) RedHat 7.3 mm.mysql-2.0.14 I also tried mysql-connector-java-3.0.1-beta with the same results I know the account name, password and database are all good, I can connect via the mysql command line interface just fine.
