Hi Andrew, I gave your patches a whirl with my new 'TR' wiimote and it worked great once I realized I had to use the sync button to connect instead of buttons 1+2. Thanks for contributing that! One question though; I noticed that expansion devices (classic controller in my case) don't seem to be working. Is that expected or did I botch my patched version? I hacked around a bit and got it to recognize it by changing the codes it is looking for in handleRAMData(), but the input was a bit garbled so I assume there's some extra/changed data that's not being accounted for.. does anyone know about this or how we'd fix it? thanks, -Eric On Nov 28, 2012, at 8:13 AM, Andrew de los Reyes <and...@gi...> wrote: > Hi Hiroaki, > > Jasen Jacobsen made me an admin on the project, so I think I can just check them in. > > I've been holding off a bit because I want to investigate using a cross-project reference for the DarwiinRemote project, or look into forcing the WiiRemoteFramework to output in the directory expected by the DarwiinRemote project. Hi Hiroaki, Jasen Jacobsen made me an admin on the project, so I think I can just check them in. I've been holding off a bit because I want to investigate using a cross-project reference for the DarwiinRemote project, or look into forcing the WiiRemoteFramework to output in the directory expected by the DarwiinRemote project. Currently, the WiiRemoteFramework project outputs in some unique(?) path outside of the source tree (latest Xcode on OS X 10.8). -andrew On Wed, Nov 28, 2012 at 6:22 AM, KIMURA, Hiroaki < hi...@dc...> wrote: > Hi Andrew, > > > Thank you for your great contribution! > > I was totally absent from coding for long time… > Let me see your patches first and decide how to apply them. > > Anyway I need to catch up everything. > > > Cheers, > Hiroaki > > > > On 2012/11/27, at 3:10, Andrew de los Reyes < > and...@gi...> wrote: > > > Hi DarwiinRemote developers, > > > > I uploaded 3 patches to > > http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=183966&atid=907367 last night > > (username andrewdlr). Hi folks, Sadly it looks like Mountain Lion breaks DarwiinRemote (and from a quick glance around the net, other Wiimote-related software too). Anyone have an idea what might have changed or if it'll be possible to get it running again? I'm willing to help poke around if there's any way I can be of help. Thanks -Eric Froemling |

Dear Darwiin Remote Developers, I am a 5th grade teacher in Kansas and I have been involved this summer with a bioengineering program for teachers at the University of Kansas. I have been working in the Human Motion Control Laboratory with a researcher, and now I am working to translate the research we've been doing this summer into lessons for a fifth grade classroom. I was fortunate enough to locate the DarWiin Remote software you have produced. I am planning to use that software and a balance board to replicate the research we've been doing in the lab in my classroom. Part of my requirement for this program is to develop and publish lesson plans for teachers on the TeachEngineering.org website. I was wondering if I could have permission to include a link to the DarWiin Remote software in the lesson plans I submit. Also, I wondered if there was a patch for the software or some sort of parallel program you've developed that allows this to work with a PC. Thank you for your fantastic software and I look forward to hearing from you. -- Alica Thomas 5th Grade Teacher Baldwin City USD 348 |

I downloaded and compiled the trunk of WiiRemote.framework and wrote a simple app to test it on my G4 notebook. It works if you first go to Bluetooth Explorer and via the GUI select unregister all registered devices. I want it so that it works as well on 10.5 PowerPC as is does 10.6 Intel, but I am not knowledgeable enough yet of Bluetooth on Mac to do this myself, so Im willing to pay to get it fixed. Ofcourse the fix will be donated back to the darwiin remote project. Please let me know if you have the ability and we can work something out. Chris Bruno |

Hi all, Been trying to make the mouse movement a whole lot more smoother [1] (ideas welcome :-), but stuck on the handleIRData function in WiiRemote.m. I do not seems to understand well what is going on over here (input/output, blackbox blabla). Been commenting in the code, but still a bit suck, could anyone elaborate the following parts of the code? * 961: The normal name for variables 'double ox, oy;' and their limits * 983: Why the hypot is used as in the big picture * 990: How to read 'cx = (irData[l].x + irData[r].x)/kWiiIRPixelsWidth - 1;' line? Seems to me as the sum of 2 points, divided by the max, makes a range between 0 and 2 but for what reason? * 994: 'ox = -dy*cy-dx*cx;', you have lost me ;-) Thanks in advance! /Rick [1] Made the Mouse Sensitivity option dialog a bit more 'user friendly at least' -- http://rickvanderzwet.nl |

Sweet. I've been lamenting my own lack of attention to DarwiinRemote. It's been over 6 months since any code has been checked in! If you'd like, I could add you as a developer to the project and you could merge your changes with the current code. I might find enough time to do a release, then. B^( I've been thinking of harmonizing with one of the other libraries like WiiRemoteJ (http://www.wiili.org/forum/wiiremotej-f68.html) or wiiuse (http://wiiuse.net/). I'm just not taking the time, and no one else is either, to keep the library up to date. - Jasen. |

Thanks for checking that out and the detailed explanation. I released 0.7 a couple of days ago, so we'll see whether people complain. Sounds like it is ALWAYS sending Command, regardless of what modifier key is chosen. I (and/or others on the list) will take a look. - Jasen. Hey. I know it was a while back that we were talking about this, but here is my experience with the modifier keys. The Classic controller does pick up modifier keys successfully for its own button presses, but it doesn't seem to be 'sharing' those modifier keys with the actual keyboard. That is to say, I can set a button on the Classic controller to be Command-W, and then open up a TextEdit window, and hit the button, and the window closes, the same as if I had pressed Command-W on the keyboard. I can also assign the Classic controller to use just the modifier key - for instance, if I set the Classic controller's D-pad Up to be 'Command', then open an emulator where 'Command' is mapped to 'Up', the D-pad Up will work as 'Up' in the emulator. I can also assign one button on the Classic controller to be 'Command', and another button to be 'W', and pressing them together will act like a normal Command-W. However, modifiers on the controller don't seem to be shared with an actual keyboard. In the scenario I had just described, pressing the D-pad Up on the controller, and then 'W' on the keyboard, I get a 'W' typed into TextEdit; the window does NOT close. Also, modifiers other than Command don't quite work properly, even just amongst the buttons on the Classic controller. If a single button is set to be Control-E, it acts as Control-E. However, it one button is set to Control, and another button is set to E, pressing both acts as Command-Control-E, instead of just Control-E. The same thing happens with Shift, and with Option: pressing a 'Shift' button and an 'E' button gets you a Command-Shift-E. Pressing an 'Option' button and an 'E' button gets you a Command-Option-E. Adding a Command modifier doesn't seem to 'trick' the behavior. That is to say, pressing a Command-Control button, and an E button, still gets a Command-Control-E. Also, pressing a Control button, and a Command-E button still gets a Command-Control-E. - Ravi |

First, sorry for my english, I'm a catalan. Second, I'm happy for your project, because I used it to learn objective-c and cocoa. I tried to re-write this code in my form and step to step for understand how works XCode, Objective-C, Coca and Bluetooth. I had the same problems in my PB G4 that you tell in the list. By other way, today I download the RemoteBuddy demo to see if they have the same problems with connection, but they do not have this problem, always connect with WiiRemote. How can be, this? They use other drivers? Too, I have seen the utility "bluethooth Explorer" in Developer utilites. This application can remove the bluethooth devices with "Modify Software Configuration" menu option, selecting "Unconfigure all 'configured" devices. I and think that this could do with objective-C. What think you of it ? Thanks for all and sorry for my english. Xin |

Thanks. I saw a report on the forums that the function keys don't work. If you could also try out the modifiers (Shift, Option, Control, Command) a bit that would be great, too. I think I'm going to release this version without the Classic joysticks moving around - like it does for the nunchuk. I/we need to add some calibration, and a way to get the joystick values out of DarwiinRemote. As far as I can tell, the only way to get at the joystick values now is by using the framework directly. Just thinking out loud here: I wonder if we could create some sort of "virtual device" and hook into the HID event stuff. i.e. Make DarwiinRemote appear to be a joystick with lots of buttons to the OS. - Jasen. Hi Jasen, The list works. I was hoping to spend time over spring break working on graphing 3D position like the acceleration is done. I'm not sure I'm going to find time for that and I also realized separating change in position from change in orientation is going to be difficult. Sorry, I can't check classic controller for you.
