For Ubuntu users this can be accomplished using sudo apt-get install php-mail-mime

After installing I was stuck on the blank page when trying to download or email an invoice. After some detective work, made more difficult by error suppression in the processNotificationUserInvoice.php file, I found mail-mime was not installed. This was not listed in the installation guide.
