As best I can tell, CVW is effectively dead. It's on
SourceForge, all right, but the community is almost completely
inactive, as the lack of response to Mr. Hicks' recent cri du coeur
shows (I've been on vacation). If it runs, great, if it doesn't,
there's the source.
CVW doesn't know or care what kind of video hardware you
have. It calls 'vic' with a whole shopping list of arguments, and
expects 'vic' to do the right thing. Run a version of 'vic' that
understands your hardware and you should be home free. I had to
gen up an intermediate C program named 'vic' and install it in
the CVW binary directory to interface to a newer version of 'vic'
that we imported to handle our somewhat newer Sun video hardware.
CVW kept showing screen areas instead of people's faces. Most

JHCore and TkMOO-Lite seems a far more attractive approach.
