Problem with host running CVSweb

  • I'm trying to use CVSGrab V2.3, but keep getting problems.  The closest I've gotten is the following, which you should be able to try (after changing the proxy settings to something real, of course).  I think the CVSweb in use at the host is version 3.0.1 (there is a "$VERSION = '3.0.1';" statement in the source code) I would attach the version in use, but there seems to be no means to do so in this forum. If my suspicion is true, can this be easily fixed?

    Thanks!
    -Bob

      Hello Bob,

Try to add the following parameter:
      -webInterface CvsWeb1_0

And tell me if it works.

      Ludovic

    • Sorry Ludovic, I missed your message Tuesday, and didn't get a chance to try your suggestion until just now.

Anyway, with much embarrassment, I must inform you that your suggestion did indeed work like a charm!  I say "with much embarrassment" because those options are indeed documented in cvsgrab -help.  Of course, I'm new here...

As an aside, why "CvsWeb1_0" and not "CvsWeb3_0"?  Just curious...

Thanks, and I'll be recommending your tool for others that use the site!
      -Bob

        Hi Bob,

Nice to know that it worked. Don't be embarrassed for so little, this option is very rarely used so it's nice to see that it still works. Actually I could not see any clue about the version of CvsWeb on the pages, so I tried all of them and CvsWeb1_0 did work...

        Cheers,
        Ludovic
