Apart from that I don't have much thing to add:
- SML and Ocaml are indeed both extensions of ML but are very
different (so that a different parser is really needed I think, but I
maybe don't know sml sufficiently...)
- Vim recognizes my Ocaml files with the default configuration. But
does it only rely on the extension ? I can't affirm this...
- doing a Google code search, every file ending in .ml is an ocaml one
