When I type "ctags sled.c -o pro/sled.c" I get back a Warning message
stating that the "-o option specified more than once, last value used."
When I look at what it thinks the last value used is, it is the "tags"
filename. Somehow tags is showing up as the tagFileName even when I
specify an explicit output file name via -o (-f). Aside from my quick
hack, is a fix for this in the offing?

You probably have specified a -o option in either the CTAGS
environment variable or an init file (e.g. ~/.ctags). If you can't
figure out right away where it is coming from, run ctags with the -V
option and it will print out every option it parses showing where it
