Hello everyone, Is there any active development in this project? I am planning to add a new language support to ctags, but if new releases from the original author are not expected, probably it would be better to revive the project by forking or to contribute to a more active project. Any ideas/comments/objections? Maxim |

If you think creating a fork causes more active contribution again then it certainly is a good idea. If you are serious about it you could also ask Darren for commit access then keep maintaining your language. About this new language support, which editor in particular do you need it for? If the editor only understands ctags tags files then adding it to ctags seems like the best idea to me. |

Maxim, Yes, it is still alive, though at a low-level of activity because of life circumstances. I put out releases periodically when enough changes have occurred. I expect to do another one before too long. Feel free to communicate with me directly if you would like to become a maintainer for the parser. There are several forks of ctags on the github, for example, https://github.com/fishman/ctags and https://github.com/lyosha/ctags-go Are there any plans to acquire those changes to trunk? The usual way how it works is to file a feature request with a patch. (A github fork should make it very easy creating said patch, just "git format-patch" I believe.) |

I will look into pulling into the “official” distribution the parsers these forks are including.
