In cscope 13.3, whenever you did a "Find this C Symbol:" and there were multiple occurrences, you would get

"Lines 1-9 of 223, press the space bar to display next lines"

and if you pressed the space bar you would see
"Lines 10-19 of 223, press the space bar to display next lines"

That 223 was a useful number and told me how many occurrences remained and at any time you would know how many "pages" you had looked over.

In cscope 15.5, that line gets shown as

"222 more lines - press the space bar to display more"

I prefer the older method. At any time you knew how many lines you already saw and how many remained. With the new method, lets say you are somewhere in the middle (you pressed the space bar a few times). Then how many total lines are there and what percentage have you already seen. There is no way to know!!!!

Please put back the counting format that was in version 13.3. I have stopped using version 15.5 of cscope because of this.

Putting something back is not the issue, because nothing was removed.

This feature never existed in this strand of cscope to begin with. cscope 13.3 is a sibling, not an ancestor of this open-source version of cscope. The branch-off happened around version 13.0
