It seems like there is a feature to emulate a 3 button
mouse by press-and-release Shift (or Ctrl) then click.
The cursor gets a little "2" (or "3") flag to tell it
is toggled. This is certainly useful for one-button
mice, but really annoying when you have a real 3 button
mouse and don't need emulation. I would like to see a
way to turn it off.

Thanks,
Tormod

    I strongly second this motion.

I have a three-button mouse. They're quite common these days.

My cursor constantly gets the little "2" or "3" flag. This is much more than
a cosmetic problem. It changes the semantics of a mouse press.

I must find the cursor and look at it before I press the left button on the
mouse, because the "2" or ''3" might be present, thus changing my left
button press into a middle-button or right-button press.

The difference can be huge! I'd love to be able to use the mouse without
fear that the button I'm pressing isn't the button that's getting sent to the server.

    thanks!

Maybe it could be controlled by whether or not a 3-button mouse is connected?

Thank you for providing a way to turn this off in version 2.0. It's a great
    new feature!

Seems to have been fixed, as per last comment. Closing the FR.
