In the Show Info box, it would be helpful to know what
encoding mechanisms the server is advertising, and/or
what encoding mechanism are being used.

This would indeed be helpful. I'll try to implement this
the next time I do some work on Chicken.
With the current code architecture, this is not an easy
task, mainly because the server is free to switch encodings
at any time.
Kurt, can you add this to your drawing_branch? If not, I
don't think it'll get implemented.
