http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/YaKuake enables you to
have a hotkey assigned that shows/hides the console,
very similar to behaviour of console in the game Quake.

It would be good if this hotkey would force Console to
appear at some position (say 0,0).

What do you think?

This is a duplicate feature request and I don't plan to
implement global hotkeys support in Console at the moment.

Please use a hotkey manager program to handle things like
    this (I use PowerPro :-)

    May I ask why? :)

Quake-style hiding console is on my todo list. It's very low
priority at the moment, since it's a purely cosmetic issue.
There are much more important (functional) issues I have to
work out first and I have to think of a way to do it properly :)

Global hotkey support is not something I'd like to add to
Console, since there are many very capable global hotkey
manager programs out there and most of alternative shells
(Litestep, Geoshell, etc) have good global hotkey support.
Having several programs handling global hotkeys at the same
time can cause strange issues and I'd like to avoid dealing
    with them :)

BTW, I use PowerPro (global hotkey support is just one of
its many features) I have a small Console docked at the
lower left desktop corner. It has its inactive alpha set
rather low, so it's not very visible. I can bring it into
focus with ALT+CTRL+C. Could something like this be an
alternative until I implement quake-like functionality?

This may be coupled with a status-bar icon. There may be a
process, that acts somewhat like a Console instances
manager. This instance manager would always have full
overview of the Consoles in use (along with each tabs, they
contain) and pass messages to either the full window or the
    tabs.

Personally I do not really need such a thing, though, it
still would be nice. But imo this fits into a late revision,
when all other things are done. Me wants more power for
typical console stuff, as long as that is possible with the
underlying CMD.EXE or the other consoles.

I think Autohotkey can handle this
