Well, nearly ;-) Compiere with now 750.000+ downloads is the primary Open Source Business Solution (covered by all analysts). Now also more and more (JDEdwars and probably soon PeopleSoft) users are looking for a stable application where users control the destiny of their application.

New Web Site
------------
We improved the Compiere Web site, updated the content and also added some implementation success stories. Compiere has a significant user basis, but unfortunately need to publish many references anonymously as they received too many inconsiderate calls.

Release 2.5.1g and beyond
-------------------------
We are in the final days of release 2.5.1 and we are finalizing the last version. In this release, we improved the client/server communication (incl. fallback if no server available), introduced value based workflows (i.e. workflow starts automatically, if a record fulfils a certain criteria) and polished up quite a few areas. The targeted release date is this month.
The next release (2.5.2) will introduce the database and application server independence and concentrate on costing (FIFO, LIFO, landed costs, ..), supply chain enhancements and introduce "real" manufacturing capabilities.

HTML UI Improvements
--------------------
We are busy improving the Compiere "reach" client in this release - not just a new look (now easy to modify via css), but making the HTML client a viable alternative for data entry.
For that we could use some JavaScript help:
- a popup calendar
- a popup calculator
for date/number field validation.

The next Compiere Intensive Training will be Dec 6-10 in Miami, FL. The last training sold out, so make sure to book early to reserve your space.
The technical training (Dec 13-15) concentrates on customizations, workflow and extensions.

Compiere Partner
----------------
Last but not least: To become a Compiere Partner is an attractive preposition. We now have 50+ partners worldwide, but some way to go compared to the number of just MS Navision or SAP(One) resellers (even though we have the far better solution). The first Compiere Partner Conference will be in Boston (18-19 Feb)!
