After an hour browsing, I only found a solution for Linux for Compiere with Postgres on the E-volution site. This does not install the server on Windows, as it is missing utils/pg files and maybe more at later stages.
I also found 10 months old Postgres files in utils/pg/ on the CVS tree which are still not in the file-releases R2.5.2e and R2.5.3a.
Any idea why these files are in the CVS and not in releases ?
Did anybody succeed in running Compiere server on Windows using Postgres ?
Installing Oracle is not an option at this stage for maintenance reasons. The customer would like to evaluate the system for now, but if it works, might have some work to give to Compiere experts (i'm not one).
Thanks in advance for any help, hints, or "forget-it"-type advice ;)
If you are flexible on the Postgres requirement, your customer could evaluate Compiere 2.5.2 or 2.5.3 on Firebird oracle-mode ("Fyracle"). See the post from a few days ago for links and details. Fyracle runs on both Windows and Linux.
I have Compiere 252d with Postgres on Windows.
It works very well.
You could also try
there you will download a copy of Compiere and Postgres working on Linux.
You will download about 600 MB (cmp + psql + linux) that you run under a wmWare player (free).
Wmware will run under MS Windows.
I tried this and run OK.
