Is it possible to mark equipment (products) as hired to a customer. We need to mark products as hired to customer from date A to date B and track the same. Also as orders are received in advance, equipment needs to reserved for customer X between dates A and B, so that over hiring is avoided. I was looking for idea's on how this can be implemented and if anybody has set up the same for a Hiring company?
we can add two field for Order Line Name hired begin date and end date..
when Order DocAction - Complete must check over lapping the date,,
if no over-lapping let it complete, otherwise error message for this Warrning...
it's easy to add this function.

Have you looked into the Resource capability under the Time and Expense module? Resources can be scheduled during specific time periods and billed accordingly.
