I been using gthrumb to watch my comics and I have to
say this is the program I been looking for. Well now I
found it :).

I wander how difficult can it be to translate Comix to
other idioms (I talk spanish). I can help you if you
guide me. I know Python, but I've got lost in this
monolithic code, all in one script.

There is also the GNOME Translation Proyect:

    Hi.

l10n or i18n is a good idea, I've thought of it before but I
guess now is a good time to deal with it.

I saw your patches, and it looks good. However I think it is
wiser to go the gettext way since many people is familiar
with it. There is also a standard gettext python module, so
there will be no extra dependencies. After many hours I have
finally made Comix fully translatable with a .pot template
file. I have also made a swedish translation myself.

There turned out to be quite a bit of strings that need
translation. You have already done large bits of the work
though. If you want to create a new translation by the
gettext method you are welcome to do so.

I attach the working copy of Comix 2.4 in which you can find
the template file that should be translated
    (messages/messages.pot). It should be rather
self-explanatory. If you want to test the translation you
should put your filled in file (called comix.po) in a
    subfolder of messages (example:
    messages/es/LC_MESSAGES/comix.po for spanish). Then you
    should run

    `msgfmt.py messages/es/LC_MESSAGES/comix.po'

    (msgfmt.py also attached)

After that you should be able to run Comix with your
translation with `./comix' assuming that you have the
    appropriate environmental variables set.

It is possible that there will be some additions/changes of
strings that need translation before 2.4 is released, I will
let you know about that if it happens. There will, ofcourse,
also be changes in future versions. If you are interested I
can send you changes as they come (making you the official
    spanish translator of sorts :)).

    Cheers,
    Pontus Ekberg

    Hi Pontus.
Thanks for supporting this. Here is the spanish translation.
You almost keep the order of the strings so it was a very
easy task. Some friends are testing but I think it's ok.
Please check the information in the header of the file.

Oh and automatic contrast is a great idea! Just like double
page mode, zips etc. I love this app.

Let me know when to update. And have a nice ending of year!

    Regards, Manuel Quiñones.
