Is there a place to get good free comics?
Preferably comics using a Creative Commons license or given away for free so there are no legal issues or anything like that.
    Anyone got any recommendations?

I'm also thinking about how I might convert all my RAR and CBR files quicly easily to Zip/CBZ or some other format because I do not want to need proprietary software

As for Free comics, I don't really know. I would like to know this as well.

Comix includes a convert utility that can be used to convert RAR archives to ZIP or tar. It works only on the loaded archive though, if you want to convert a large quantity of archives it would be more convenient to use some sort of batch tool. It should be possible to create one rather easily with the help of the `unrar` and `zip` programs.

      Hello,

I just find this site: http://goldenagecomics.co.uk/

Some people may be interested: you can download there comics which are copyright free (they are now in the public domain). It's mainly old comics from the 40's to the 60's...
