It still is not the case here. I do have an intel Centrino with Execute Disable Bit. I do have SP2 installed. I run 0.6.3 and I have *no* problems running with /NoExecute=OptOut (also note that I haven't opted out CoLinux or any part of it). And I run CoLinux a lot, it's auto-starting as service. I haven't had one single problem except that if I set CoLinux memory to exactly 128 MB, I always get a hard hang (physical power-off needed) the moment the service starts. Less or more memory to CoLinux works fine. I've done some testing with DEP, running rough software, and it does protect my system as intended. I never ran any previous versions of CoLinux, but I got the impression from wikis that it was a problem with earlier versions, not 0.6.3. On the other hand, you (Henry) seem to be a developer so I take your word on it when you say it's not fixed even in 0.7.1. Maybe the Centrino has a slightly different implementation that happens to work better with CoLinux? I've run it on 1,50 GHz (M 758) and 1,60 GHz (M 778) Centrinos. |
