when I tried it last time, I ran colinux in vmware running windows VM inside linux host. I doubt if NX and PAE will make sense inside a VM but I will try it over the weekend and let you know.

vmware server is free now, and I think you should try it. It is very good for destructive testing.

Do you have installed a Windows in VMware, and run in this the coLinux?
Is your VMware installed in native Linux or Windows?

I have no VMware installed.

An other question:
Could you simulate NX and PAE in your VMware virtual machine to get the
error point from this old bug?
