I recently ran into this patch which states:

# Solved follow problems:
# - For connetion between Linux and Windows (Xserver) network 127.0.0.1
# can use. Network 127.x.x.x is mostly not a firewall and is faster
# as the network stack for cards.

Henry, which snapshot did this patch go in? And I assume this would mean that if I have a gigabit NIC, I will be able to use upto (theoretically) one gbps rate between colinux and windows on this interface? Is this understanding correct?

I have always wondered if we could have a special network interface which is local between colinux and windows, and is able to use the full b/w of 1gbps. Is this patch the implementation of this idea?

Thanks,
Sunil
