Greetings. I'm running LispWorks (Linux) 4.1.20, along
with the most recent PORT version. As implemented,
port:probe-directory for this platform behaves
incorrectly, and is an internal symbol to boot (I
realize this is sometimes a necessity).

For example, if I call probe-directory on a
non-existent file:

(port:probe-directory "/foo/")

the function returns T (I don't think it should in this
case).

Perhaps the function

(lispworks:file-directory-p)

should be used instead? It has the benefit of behaving
correctly when handed a non-existent file, plus its an
exported symbol.

Regards,

David E. Young
