Huh? On which platform and with which compiler flags?
I verified things on Linux/AMD64, with the BASE_MODULES only. But the
stubs generated by modprep in rawsock.c and gettext.c should be the same, no?

Because DEBUG_GCSAFETY did not work with TYPECODES.
